Moonvine Sync: the plugin
Moonvine Sync takes everything you’ve published on WordPress and makes it semantically searchable. Install the plugin, paste your API key, hit sync. Your content becomes something an AI can reason about.
We built this because WordPress search is keyword matching, and keyword matching stops being useful around the 50-post mark. Moonvine Sync doesn’t match keywords. It understands content.
Here’s how it works today.
Setup
Settings → Moonvine. One field. Your API key starts with mk_ — paste it, click save.
The second card shows your content types as chips with counts: Pages (17), Posts (0), Notes (208), Work (67). Toggle on what you want indexed. There’s an auto-sync checkbox — turn it on and Moonvine re-indexes every time you publish or update.
You control what goes into the index. Not everything needs to be searchable.

First sync
Hit “Sync Now.” A progress bar tracks each batch as it sends:
Sending batch 2 of 5…
Each batch sends a group of posts to Moonvine. Larger sites take a few more rounds. The progress bar tells you exactly where you are.
Once the sync completes, give it a minute or two. Moonvine is building a semantic map on the other end — understanding how your content relates to itself.
Moonvine Insight
After sync, a new page appears in wp-admin: Moonvine Insight.

Search bar. Natural language. Ask it something.

What comes back: an AI Overview that synthesizes an answer from your own content, with numbered citations. Below that, source cards — titles, excerpts, Edit/View links back to the originals.
Ask “what makes a good brand?” and it pulls from five different posts, finds the through-line, and shows its work. Every claim cites a source. Every citation links back.
Two things worth knowing
Add ? to the end of any query to trigger an automatic AI overview. Search shipping policy and you get results. Search shipping policy? and you get a synthesized answer on top.
Start typing and after two characters, glossary suggestions drop down. These aren’t tags you created or categories you assigned. They’re concepts Moonvine learned from your content. The vocabulary builds itself.
What’s next
This is v3.2.0. Sync, search, understand — that’s the foundation. We’re building front-end features now: natural language chat and search for your actual visitors, not just your admin dashboard. They’re functional today, but we’re focused on data security before we expose a public endpoint.
More soon.
