Moonvine for Slack

Watches, Reports, and Notifications

Watching an organization and receiving a notification are separate choices. Set each one deliberately.

What this covers: Watched organizations, the Moonvine Weekly, custom recurring reports, meaningful-change alerts, delivery destinations, and pause controls.

Who it’s for: Marketers who want Moonvine to keep research coverage current without filling Slack with routine noise.

Key outcome: You’ll understand what Moonvine is collecting, which messages arrive where, and how to manage all delivery preferences from one place.

Watching an organization starts research coverage

Watch an org means Moonvine begins or expands approved research coverage for that organization. Depending on available sources, that can include the public website and content, public social activity, configured competitors, documents, news, public-company signals, market evidence, and other permitted inputs.

Watching an organization does not subscribe anyone to messages. It simply creates the evidence foundation that makes future research and alerts useful.

Notifications decide when Moonvine checks back in

Type What it does Default behavior
Moonvine Weekly A fixed editorial weekly briefing. Scheduled delivery to the destinations you choose.
Custom report A recurring report built from your saved brief. Runs on its configured schedule.
Signal alert A check for a configured meaningful change. Only sends when the threshold is met; no-change checks stay quiet.

Create a report from the conversation

Use Create a report when the research needs to become a durable document. Moonvine can begin with the question already in the thread, then ask for the period, format, length, tables or charts, and whether the report should run once or recur.

The report is not a long Slack message. It is a Moonvine web brief with its own evidence, export options, and delivery history. Slack receives the delivery note and link.

Manage all destinations in one place

Slack App Home and Moonvine Settings use the same notification subscription. You can see active, paused, and failed schedules; change the scope, cadence, and destinations; and review delivery history from either entry point.

Personal delivery can include Moonvine in-app, email, and Slack DM. Shared Slack-channel delivery is opt-in and available only to people authorized to manage that account or portfolio.

Keep the signal useful

A meaningful-change alert should identify what changed, why it matters, the source and freshness of the evidence, and the next research move. It should not send a daily report merely because a schedule exists. Use a digest or custom report when you prefer a regular summary.

✓ Your monitoring setup is working when

  • Each watched organization has clear research coverage.
  • Each notification has an owner, cadence, destination, and delivery history.
  • Signal alerts suppress no-change noise.
  • The same subscription appears in Slack App Home and Moonvine Settings.
