Ask in plain language. Moonvine resolves the account, checks the evidence, and chooses the useful next step.

Ask for the decision, not the database query

State the account, comparison, time period, and what you are trying to decide. Moonvine can infer familiar language such as “our,” “competitors,” or a partial company name when the context is unambiguous. When it is not, it asks one focused clarification instead of guessing.

Examples:

• “Give me the 30-day picture for Montauk Hoops versus competitors.”
• “What changed in the category after this announcement?”
• “Which homepage claims are not backed up by customer proof?”

Use selected Slack context when it matters

Use Research with Moonvine on a Slack message, link, or thread when the text itself is relevant evidence or framing. Moonvine receives the selected context, not a broad search of the workspace. It still applies the initiating user’s account and channel permissions before using that context.

Read the answer before asking for the artifact

Moonvine starts with the direct read. It adds source and freshness context for material claims, and it names an uncertainty when the available evidence cannot support a stronger conclusion.

Ask for a visual when it makes the decision easier:

• Trend: “Show social engagement over the longest honest period.”
• Ranking: “Chart competitor posting activity for the last 30 days.”
• Comparison: “Give me a compact table of homepage positioning claims.”

Moonvine only charts supported measures and date windows. A partial dataset is labeled as partial; it is not padded with invented data.

Ask for rows or a report when you need them

Ask for CSV or XLSX when you need the underlying rows, filters, source, freshness, and account scope. Ask for a report when the answer needs a durable brief. Moonvine will ask for the period, style, length, tables or charts, and schedule only when it cannot infer them from the conversation.

Slack gets a concise delivery note and a link. Moonvine web is where you edit the report, inspect large tables, and download PDF or PPTX when that format is available for the report.
